GFS 2.0 Update – FAQ’s

9 Oct

What is GFS 2.0?

GFS 2.0 is the next phase of the Gluten Free Specialty Grocery Store in Sacramento

We are upgrading GFS to include a kitchen and prep area space. Fresh ready to go meals, bulk bins and a kitchen and community space are in our future.

For 6 1/2 years Gluten Free Specialty Grocery has been serving the celiac and gluten free community of Sacramento, California. As we enter into our 7th year of existence we are asking for help from the community.
How Will GFS 2.0 benefit the community?
Since we opened, our celiac and specialty diet community has been asking for many services not yet available in the Sacramento area:
Fresh ready to go options
Dining space
Community space for gatherings
Kitchen space for cooking classes
Educational space
Web ordering capacity
EBT program involvement & WIC
GFS 2.0 will expand on these services to the community

When Will the Funding Campaign for GFS 2.0 begin?

The funding campaign for GFS 2.0 has a tentative launch date for the week after Thanksgiving (though we’ll be excepting project donations and volunteers before this date).

How Can We Participate in Making GFS 2.0 a Reality?

Multiple sources will be used to make GFS 2.0 a reality.

Our landlords are donating toward renovations.

We will be taking out a series of loans.

Donations are being accepted from the general public and from businesses.

An Indie Go-Go crowd funding campaign is set to launch the week after Thanksgiving (backers will be offered incentives to participate)

Profits from Holiday Sales will go toward this project.

Awesome gifts, specials and VIP packages will be available for sale during the holiday months (all proceeds going to the project campaign).
