Midtown Photo Scavenger Hunt

Gluten Free Specialty prides itself on being a leader in the gluten free community, but we are also a part of the larger Sacramento community.  We love Midtown, so we’ve created a scavenger hunt of some of our favorite places!  Using the clues below, find and photographer yourself in front of these Midtown treasures.  (Please be courteous to small business owners and take your photos outside their businesses.)  All participants will receive a prize, and your photos may make it onto our facebook or our walls!

  1. Perfect for lunch, this Thai restaurant boasts a gluten free and vegan marked menu developed with the help of the owner of GFSM.

  2. Let your inner wrestler out!  This building, like the theatre happening inside of it, stands out in midtown as being bold, colorful, and eye catching!

  3. Begun in 1839, this National Historic Landmark was originally named “New Helvetia” (New Switzerland) by its builder John Sutter.

  4. Computers aren’t everything!  Snap a photo of old fashion reading material at one of Sacramento’s libraries or bookstores.

  5. Get a photo of someone with the form of plantlife that Sacramento is best known for.

  6. Melanie and April love yoga.  Get a photo of someone doing their favorite yoga pose.

  7. Shakespeare tells us that a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.  Go to the International Peace Rose Garden at 15th and Capitol and find the best named rose you can!

  8. The environment is our friend!  Grab a photo of an alternative form of transportation in Sacramento.

  9. This colorful hare is known for its farm to fork menu and signature cocktails.  It was featured in our May Bookmark Series as a gluten free-friendly restaurant.

  10. This boutique is one of GFS’s neighbors, and encourages you to “find yourself”.

  11. This amazing dedicated bakery is one of our very favorites and is the safest place to eat gluten free goodies made right here in Sacramento.

  12. It’s Second Saturday!  Get a quick photo of someone with any piece of public artwork in Sacramento.

  13. It’s our 5th Anniversary, so snap a picture of the best looking number “5” you can find around town.

  14. This spiritual center, gift and book store on J Street is like chlorophyll for your soul!

  15. Write a haiku about Gluten Free Specialty Market!

A haiku is a three line poem with a specific syllable pattern:

Line 1 has 5 syllables

Line 2 has 7 syllables

Line 3 has 5 syllables
